At Mosquito Shield, we specialize in shielding your home and yard from more than just mosquitoes. Our comprehensive pest control solutions effectively treat these common outdoor pests:
As summer settles into Central Indiana, mosquito populations are entering their peak season. The combination of warm temperatures, increased humidity, and periodic thunderstorms creates ideal breeding conditions for mosquitoes throughout the Indianapolis area. Standing water left behind by summer rainstorms can accumulate in gutters, flower pots, birdbaths, children’s toys, and low-lying areas of the yard, providing countless opportunities for mosquitoes to lay eggs and reproduce. With mosquito life cycles accelerating during the hottest months of the year, even a small amount of water can lead to a noticeable increase in mosquito activity around your home.
Summer also brings heightened tick activity across Central Indiana. While many homeowners associate ticks with spring, these pests remain highly active throughout the summer months, particularly in wooded areas, tall grass, landscaping beds, and along the edges of yards. Warm temperatures and abundant vegetation provide ideal conditions for ticks to seek hosts, increasing the likelihood of encounters with people and pets enjoying outdoor activities. Because ticks can transmit serious illnesses such as Lyme disease, Rocky Mountain spotted fever, and other tick-borne diseases, maintaining effective tick prevention measures throughout the summer is essential for protecting your family and pets while spending time outdoors.
High mosquito pressure: Treatments every 10–12 days.
Average mosquito pressure: Treatments every two weeks.
Low mosquito pressure: Treatments every 17–18 days.
While the total number of treatments depends on weather conditions and mosquito populations, we typically provide 10–12 treatments over the course of a season.Mosquito harborage areas – Cool, dark, and damp spots such as under decks, sheds, in plants, or evergreens.
High-traffic areas – Spaces where you and your family spend time, like patios, fire pits, or play areas.
Standing water – Any locations that may encourage mosquito breeding.
After the treatment, your technician will document any issues they found and email you a detailed service report. Once the treatment dries (typically 15–20 minutes), your yard is ready to be enjoyed again.
