    Cherry Hill Professional Mosquito Control

Cherry Hill, New Jersey, is a thriving community located just outside Philadelphia. Known for its welcoming neighborhoods, excellent schools, and abundant amenities, Cherry Hill offers a high quality of life for its residents. The town is home to landmarks like the historic Barclay Farmstead Museum, Cherry Hill Mall, and Cooper River Park, which provide endless opportunities for recreation and relaxation. However, these same features, coupled with Cherry Hill’s lush greenery and seasonal climate, create ideal conditions for mosquito and tick populations.

    Community Initiatives and Professional Solutions

Cherry Hill residents have embraced both education and professional pest control measures to combat these challenges:

    • Community Education: Efforts include promoting awareness about eliminating standing water and maintaining yards to minimize mosquito and tick habitats.
    • Expert Mosquito and Tick Treatments: Regular treatments are encouraged for both private residences and shared outdoor spaces to keep Cherry Hill a safe and enjoyable place to live.

    Health and Safety Concerns

Mosquito-borne illnesses like West Nile Virus and Eastern Equine Encephalitis (EEE) are concerns in Cherry Hill, while ticks bring the added risk of Lyme disease. Proactive pest management is critical to protecting both residents and visitors from these health threats and maintaining the town’s livability.

Seasonal Weather in Cherry Hill New Jersey

Cherry Hill’s four-season climate plays a significant role in pest activity throughout the year. Warm, humid summers encourage mosquito breeding, particularly after thunderstorms leave behind standing water. Ticks thrive during the spring and fall when moderate temperatures and abundant vegetation create ideal conditions for them. While winters in Cherry Hill bring a seasonal reprieve, unseasonably warm days can extend mosquito activity, making year-round vigilance essential.

Key Pest Factors in Cherry Hill:

    • Mosquitoes and Water Features: Cooper River and other water bodies contribute to increased mosquito activity during the summer months.
    • Ticks and Dense Vegetation: Overgrown greenery in yards and public parks creates suitable habitats for ticks, particularly in spring and fall.

Frequently Asked Questions From Cherry Hill Residents

How long after treatment can customers expect to notice a reduction in mosquitos on their property?
Most of our customers will see a dramatic improvement 24-48 hours after the very first treatment. After two treatments, customers should be able to enjoy their outdoor areas because we have built up a barrier to the mosquitoes and ticks. At this point, customers can call us back out if they continue to get swarmed or bitten. Most of our customers are never bitten the entire season.
Why are mosquitos a problem in your service area?
New Jersey has an excellent climate to allow mosquitoes and ticks to thrive. Primarily, the warm summers, high humidity, dense vegetation, and relatively wet conditions allow mosquitos and ticks to thrive. Standing water, streams, woodlands, and rural areas give mosquitoes and ticks ample habitat. Its low elevation and relatively flat topography means that water does not disperse rapidly. Relatively mild winters allow tick species to survive from one year to the next.
Are there any geographic features or weather patterns unique to your area that impact the mosquito population?
Mosquitoes will need a combination of rain and a couple days of warm weather to jump start their activity. That can sometimes happen in April and sometimes not happen until May. If customers sign-up for full-season service, then Mosquito Shield of Southern NJ is ready to react as soon as the weather warrants it. Summers without a mid-summer drought will see much higher levels of mosquito activity than summers that are drier. A particularly wet or snowy winter can cause some species of mosquitoes to be active even after a few seasons of inactivity. A mild winter can sometimes mean that ticks will be more active and numerous earlier in the Spring.
Is it safe for my family?
The EPA states that the products we use pose no measurable risk to humans or pets when used according to the label, which we do.
Do you come back out if we need you?
We offer a Satisfaction Guarantee. After your second comprehensive treatment, if you are getting swarmed or bitten, just give us a call and we will come back out and re-treat your area. In the unlikely event that you need a second call-back at any time during the season, our Service Manager will come out with your technician and walk the property with you to see if there are any adjustments needed to your treatment plan.
How long does it take to spray my property?
Our technician will walk your property with you on our first visit so that we get to know the specific condition of you property and how you use it. This visit may take from 15-30 minutes. After that, most visits will take less than 15 minutes, but it really depends on weather, topography, and how you use your property.
What are the best times of year to start and stop service for your area?
Our full season service starts in early April and end in early October. Even a single service will be effective for a short period of time before the next cycle of ticks establishes themselves.

Mosquito Shield Joins Cherry Hill’s “Branching Out” Tree Planting Initiative

At the beginning of April, the Mosquito Shield leadership team rolled up their sleeves and  joined fellow volunteers in supporting a cleaner, greener Cherry Hill. As part of the  Branching Out: Growing a Greener Cherry Hill initiative—an effort led by Cherry Hill  Township to plant over 500 trees across the community—we spent a beautiful morning  contributing to a project that benefits both people and the environment.

Our team helped plant 10 native trees in Willowdale Park, a beloved local spot that’s home  to walking trails, a picturesque pond, and diverse plant and wildlife. The new trees,  including Red Oaks and White Oaks, were strategically placed around the pond’s edge to  strengthen the riparian buffer—a natural barrier that helps reduce erosion, improve water  quality, and provide a habitat for local species.

Willowdale Park sits in a neighborhood we proudly serve, and we know firsthand how much  residents value this peaceful green space. Being able to give back in a way that directly  supports the health and beauty of the park felt especially meaningful.

The morning was filled with fresh air and a renewed appreciation for the simple joys of  springtime. More importantly, it gave our team a chance to step outside of our day-to-day  work and take part in a larger mission of sustainability and community connection.

Mosquito Shield is committed to being more than just a service provider—we’re neighbors,  too. We’re proud to play a small part in helping Cherry Hill grow greener and look forward to  continuing our support for local efforts that make a lasting difference.
