Owners Richard Poole and Greg Powell are both Georgia boys who have been family for almost 2 decades. They have grown close over the years and have always wanted to build a family business that could one day be passed down to the grandkids. Richard has lived in Middle Tennessee for 15 years and it’s no secret that the Nashville area is one of the hottest, fastest growing cities in the US. No longer just about country music, all music. It’s also become an incredible food scene. Put all of that together with all there is to do for the outdoor lovers, it’s easy to see why Middle Tennessee is the place to be!
For more than 15+ years, Richard has worked in the Insurance/Financial Service industries where he has owned, operated agencies, and helped other agencies grow. In recent years Richard has branched out and owned businesses in other industries including vending and real estate, so the day-to-day management and operations come naturally. The common denominator, customer service. Richard enjoys being in business that serves those in the community. Greg on the other hand worked for UPS for almost 30 years. First as a driver and then in upper management. He recently transitioned into a management role within his local county transportation office where he oversees all aspects of busing, purchasing and services. This experience has given Greg great experience in customer service and territory management. These experiences will complement each other greatly when it comes to growing and managing a mosquito and tick control franchise in North & East Nashville, TN like Mosquito Shield that prides itself on close ties to the community and the outstanding service of its customers.
One of their favorite local restaurants includes Moby Dicky’s, which is quintessential Middle Tennessee. It is located right on Old Hickory Lake and offers great people, great food, and great times! When asked what attracted them to Mosquito Shield, “Who doesn’t love spending outdoors with their family and friends? We have kid and grandkids who love the outdoors but with all the great natural waters in Middle TN, it makes the mosquito population unbearable. The Mosquito Shield products are so incredible, we can now enjoy being outdoors without all the chemicals, sprays, and other toxins we would have to cover our children in just to be outside. We want to bring that same sense of joy to every household in the North and East Nashville area and become the “go-to” company for all Mosquito and Tick Control service needs.”
