Hi, my name is Eithne Smith, and I’m the owner of Mosquito Shield of Central Massachusetts.
The main reason I started Mosquito Shield of Central Massachusetts was that I wanted more freedom, satisfaction, and flexibility. With over 30 years of working for others, I was ready to become my own boss. I also wanted to begin focusing on helping and serving my community.
I have experience in areas including product development, customer service, operations, and education. Through my time in school, I obtained a B.Sc in Applied Chemistry and Physics from Dublin Institute of Technology, Ireland, an MBA from Bryant University, and a Masters in Education Administration from Endicott College.
This business allows me to combine my diverse background in science, business, and education. I’ll be able to operate a company that provides communities with a proven effective solution for mosquito and tick control. An effective solution that is delivered with exceptional customer service and attention to detail.

I love to be outside. Mosquito Shield has given me the ability to enjoy more time outdoors doing the things I love—entertaining, cooking, socializing with family and friends, playing with the dog, and gardening. I want others to have that same experience.
I am an immigrant who came to this country from Ireland in 1987 with no family here and little money. A combination of hard work, education, opportunity, and tenacity, as well as great mentors are central to my story and journey to this point.
