Meet the Owners

At Mosquito Shield of West Michigan, we take pride in delivering proven, effective, and customer-focused pest control services. Founded by Chuck and Sue Barnes, our journey started in 2014 when we began operating out of our home in Bellevue, Michigan. With a commitment to excellence and community, we expanded to our current location on Sprinkle Road in Portage in 2022.

Chuck Barnes grew up on a farm in Calhoun County and earned his BSME degree from Tri-State University. With a rich background as an engineer in the automotive and heavy truck industry, Chuck brings technical expertise and a love for the outdoors, including activities like hunting, boating, and snowmobiling.

Sue Barnes, originally from St. Joe County, graduated as an RN from Glen Oaks Community College. Together, Chuck and Sue have raised two children, Andy and Breanna, and now enjoy spending time with their grandson, Beau. Sue loves boating on Lake Michigan, rock collecting, and building connections with family and friends.
