Hi, my name is Joseph Bosco and I’m the owner of Mosquito Shield of Katy-Cypress.
At Mosquito Shield of Katy-Cypress, Texas, new customers get their first month of treatment for free. Our goal is to provide the best mosquito control service with the highest levels of customer service, allowing our customers to enjoy their homes and time with family to the fullest.
In 2015, I moved to Katy to pursue work in Houston’s oil and gas industry. As a major part of this, I worked with people from around the world, selling software to oil and gas customers. I enjoy small town living but appreciate the close proximity to one of America’s largest cities. My wife, Deanna, works in “Old Katy” serving local and international families.
Outside of work, we spend our time together as a family. We vacation in Galveston for the sprawling beaches, park festivals, and carnival rides. We absolutely love critiquing barbecue in different restaurants. And, we stay healthy as a family by walking and riding bikes in the north and west suburbs of Houston.
Some fun facts about our family: we like watching “Naked and Afraid” on television and we playfully suggest that we can do it, until there’s an episode where the contestants are being eaten alive by bugs—then we’re out!
I started my mosquito control business because I love the outdoors. I, much like many others, have had nice days ruined by mosquitoes stinging myself and guests. I wanted to help prevent that from happening to people.
Especially in the Katy-Cypress area, effective mosquito control is essential. By early March, we notice inch-long bodied mosquitoes. That’s something I’m excited to provide relief from for our community.

To demonstrate my love of the outdoors, I should mention that as a kid I was in the Boy Scouts and at one point camped out at least 2 nights a month for over 2 years. I lived in Connecticut at that time so several of those nights the temperature was below zero. I was also a Cubmaster for a few years while my son was in the scouts.
In 2020, as motivation to exercise more, I started participating in Triathlons. Now, I’m preparing for my first ½ Ironman Triathlon. Because of this I get to spend even more time outdoors. However, I often come home from training with an absurd number of bites. It’s no mystery how I became the biggest advocate for mosquito control services.
My education has helped me to be able to understand how Mosquito Shield products and tools work. Leveraging my Mechanical Engineering degree from Purdue University, I have a very firm understanding of how this product works so well. I also have an MBA to help me get through the business side of the company.
I have been involved in the customer service side of business my entire career. I started working before I was 16, doing jobs like carrying golf clubs and delivering newspapers. In my very early jobs, I only got paid if I did a good job and received tips.
Once 16, I worked as a lifeguard and swimming instructor. A highly visible position that required the job to be done properly every time.
All my jobs since then have been as a commissioned salesperson. During that time, I won many awards and sold more products than I was assigned to. This success came from always doing my best to understand what my customers wanted and sell them a product that satisfies their needs.
