A favorite local spot is Japanese Steakhouse in Jackson, Michigan where your food is prepared right in front of you on a large flat top cooking service while the chefs do tricks with their cooking utensils. Another important part of their family life is wrestling, and most of the past 20 years family vacations have revolved around bringing their 4 boys to wrestling events around the country.
LaMar says, “My entire family has lived in Hillsdale / Jackson for all of my life. We know the Jackson, MI area and people well. Our area is a very remote type of setting with the conveniences of the big city just a short drive away. We have four Private and very prestigious colleges in our Jackson, Michigan mosquito control service territory. Hillsdale College, Albion College, Spring Arbor College, and Adrian College. I have worked my whole career within my territory. I was a Manufacturing Engineer for many years before working my way up the ladder to the General Manager role I fill today. I have purchased millions of dollars’ worth of assets, set them up to run production, trained others on how to operate, and now I am responsible for P&L Statements, Balance Sheets, Inventory Levels, and having the right people in the right positions. My business model is pretty simple: take care of the employees, take care of the customers, and be as efficient as possible every day. If you do those three things, everything else will take care of itself.”
