About Mosquito Shield of South Tampa

Hi, my name is Kevin Vinnett and I’m the owner of Mosquito Shield of South Tampa.

At Mosquito Shield of South Tampa, Florida, we help our fellow community members enjoy the summer months by providing effective mosquito control. Our goal is to provide the best mosquito control services with the highest levels of customer service, allowing our customers to enjoy their homes and time with family to the fullest. 

I was born in Chicago and raised in Arkansas. I joined the United States Air Force and proudly served this country for 22 years. Now, with Mosquito Shield, I’m excited to have another chance to serve my community. 

I’m happily married and have 3 daughters. I love the cultural richness of the South Tampa area that provides diverse traditions, food, and endless summertime feel. Some fun facts about Ybor City: it was “once the cigar making capital of the world,” and is where “Cuban sandwiches were first invented.” 

As a South Tampa resident, I personally love visiting Anna Maria Island. It’s the perfect spot for families, complete with white sand, a relaxed ambiance, and clear blue waters.

My family and I are very excited to serve this beautiful Florida community. We’re ready to have a positive impact on the lives of fellow residents through professional mosquito control and tick prevention services.

I’m Not Just a Mosquito Shield Owner

Serving in the military provided me with qualities that translate to business ownership. Business owners need to wear many operational hats. Being part of the most powerful military in the world, the Air Force instilled in me adaptability, reliability, and accountability. 

In both the military and business, you have to be able to acknowledge that when nobody knows the answer, you need to step up and make it happen. I enjoy big challenges and love to serve. Starting a business was a way for me to give back and strengthen my community.

It’s exciting to own a small business and still have support from a corporation and other franchisees. We may be locally owned and operated, but we are backed nationally. It helps us be able to provide a safe, customized solution to each customer’s mosquito issues.
