Owners Susan McBeth and Alfred Lester are life partners with a shared passion for adventure and life outdoors. They enjoy traveling to new destinations, especially those where they can be outdoors and enjoy time on or near water. Some of their favorite memories are from their annual canoe and camping trips to the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness where they disconnect from daily life and reconnect with nature and each other.
Susan grew up in Minnesota and has lived in the greater Milwaukee area for more than 20 years. Alfred has made southeast Wisconsin his playground for the last 20+ years while living in Chicago and New York and has called the area home since 2016. What they love about this area is the variety of activities and communities that it encompasses, with many options for family fun and connection. With everything from lake life to arts and culture, to excellent hiking trails and community events, this area offers something for everyone!
Susan had been a marketing professional for more than 20 years and has enjoyed serving corporations and clients by understanding her customers’ needs and developing creative and effective marketing campaigns that drive business results. She’s had the opportunity to work with several top brands with focus on an active outdoor lifestyle including Harley-Davidson, Evinrude, Johnson Outdoors and more. Alfred is an entrepreneur who has found great success as a professional makeup artist and hairstylist. He has enjoyed traveling the world training artists on products and techniques and always goes the extra mile to ensure he exceeds clients’ expectations. His experience is vast with many premiere clients including Harley-Davidson, Nike, Dick’s Sporting Goods, Under Armour and many more.
Their favorite local restaurant is I.d. Delafield in the Delafield Hotel. It offers the best in modern American fine dining. The laid back yet bustling atmosphere is infectious. The sounds of laughter and glasses clinking immediately draw you in. The menu is excellent, and the service is impeccable. Every dining experience is a real treat, and on occasion it’s made even more special by an overnight stay at the Delafield Hotel, which is nothing short of amazing! They also love to spend time on the many lakes in the area. They especially love boating and fishing on Pewaukee and Upper Nemahbin Lakes. Alfred catches more fish with better technique and more patience but Susan’s claim to fame is hooking a Muskie on Pewaukee Lake and almost getting it into the boat. When not on the water, you might find them exploring new paths on the Ice Age trail with their dog, Willow.
When asked what attracted him to opening a Mosquito Shield franchise in Waukesha, WI, “We were interested in finding a business that we could own and manage together that leverages our strengths, aligns with our interests and would have a positive impact on the customers we serve. With our own love of the outdoors and desire to enjoy our own backyard as much as possible, we saw great potential to help others enjoy their outdoor space more by offering mosquito and tick control services in Waukesha, WI with a solution that will keep families, children and pets comfortable. However, our formula was specifically engineered for mosquitoes so it won’t repel any other insects as it does mosquitoes.
