At Mosquito Shield of Central Charlotte, North Carolina, our goal is to provide the best mosquito control service with the highest levels of customer service, allowing our customers to enjoy their yards, homes and time with family to the fullest.
Owners Katherine & Jawad Salim and Steve Moeller & Deb Moeller have lived and worked in the territory for the past 5 years. Their territory is a rapidly growing area in Charlotte, where people from all over America are moving to. There are many outdoor activities including multiple robust communities on a destination lake, called Lake Norman. In addition, this area is the home of Nascar!
Jawad and Katie have medical backgrounds as Jawad is a practicing physician and Katie is a Nurse Practitioner. Steve is a financial analyst, while Deb is a CPA. What makes them unique is that not one of them has any real experience operating a mosquito business but they all have a desire to make a positive impact in their community. With their diverse backgrounds, they feel they can combine their various experiences to provide excellent service to their local community.
They all started this business because they would like to make an impact in their community and leave a legacy for their children. They have young children, and both love the outdoors. Mosquitos are vicious in the Charlotte area, and they wanted to do something about it that was effective.
One of their favorite local restaurants is Eddies on the lake. It is a restaurant on the lake that has fresh seafood and beautiful views. They also love visiting Lake Norman. There are all sorts of activities on the lake you can do for every age with plenty of great restaurants. When asked what attracted them to Mosquito Shield, “We were attracted to this franchise opportunity because Mosquitoes are a major issue for us in our very own backyards. We tried multiple mosquito control companies in the past and had terrible results. We then researched further and realized that the company that has had the best results for Mosquito Control, Mosquito Shield, wasn’t serviced in our territory. With that, we researched further and fell in love with the brand as we learned more and thus wanted to bring it to our city.”

We use an insecticide so other insects present when and where we spray may be impacted.
However, our formula was specifically engineered for mosquitoes so it won’t repel any other insects as it does mosquitoes.
