Fall spraying essential to keep the ticks at bay

Despite cooler temps, tick season endures through the end of summer

While Memorial Day typically heralds the beginning of summer, and the beginning of tick season, its bookend holiday, Labor Day, does not signal the end of the tick threat.

Mosquito Shield continues to spray through the fall while ticks are still active, helping homeowners battle ticks with its patent-pending Tick Shield product.

While deer ticks do thrive in hot, humid weather, particularly at the beginning of their lifecycle, those life cycles extend from three months to over a year. Therefore the ticks that are hatched in late August will be around through the fall.

As most of us know, deer ticks mean Lyme disease.

The Lyme disease epidemic in the U.S. is much worse than doctors and public health officials have feared. Last year, the Centers for Disease Control & Prevention reported some 30,000 cases of Lyme disease. That number has exploded to an estimated 300,000 cases of Lyme annually.

The increase is due in part to the general population becoming more aware of tick-borne illnesses and more readily recognizing the symptoms of Lyme disease.

“For $249 per year, I think it’s the best peace of mind money can buy,” says David Briggs, Founder and President of Mosquito Shield. “Because of my family, I’ve always treated my property for ticks even when Lyme disease wasn’t well known.”

A female deer tick will lay up to 2000 eggs during the hot and humid season. Those ticks thrive in locales that contain sandy soil, hardwood trees, rivers, and a healthy population of deer. Sound like a place you know?

Mosquito Shield utilizes a Pyrethroid mixture with our proprietary blend of natural oils to eradicate the tick population from all turf, landscape beds and wood-lines on your property. Almost ten years of research and development went into honing the blend of tick control solution, and it is guaranteed to be effective while serving as a safer alternative for children and pets.

For those customers who wish to go all-natural, Mosquito Shield has developed a proprietary blend of natural oils that effectively controls and kills ticks. The All Natural program cost 20% more and also comes with Mosquito Shield’s guarantee. If either application does not effectively impact the tick problem, Mosquito Shield will re-apply until the problem is resolved.

This intensive tick control solution also controls fleas and is developed specifically to help stop the spread of Lyme disease. While no product or service can completely eradicate the tick problem, Mosquito Shield’s innovative Tick Shield product can greatly reduce the threat of tick-borne illnesses by reducing the presence of ticks in your yard.
